Installation & Upgrades

QI previously purchased an activation code for TeamLook and I just installed the latest v1.5 version on my machine. I am no longer activated, why?

AIf you had a previous version of TeamLook installed on your machine before upgrading to v1.5, you will need to re-enter your activation code which you received when purchasing TeamLook. If you no longer have your activation code, please contact TeamLook@personifydesign.com to assist you with this matter.

QAfter installing TeamLook, I load Outlook but I do not see the 'TeamLook' menu bar. Why is TeamLook not installing correctly on my machine?

A-1 In order to have Outlook and VSTO (Visual Studio Tools for Office) tell you about problems/exceptions before TeamLook has been loaded, add the following two environment variables to a command prompt and then launch outlook.exe. Upon receiving the exception, please copy and paste the exception and mail it to teamlook@personifydesign.com. We really appreciate your assistance in making TeamLook better!

Upon startup, make sure that TeamLook is enabled as a COM Plugin.

Steps

1Open 'Tools->Options' and select the 'Other' Tab.

2Click the 'Advanced Options' button then the 'COM Add-Ins...' button (this will open a new dialog).

3Verify that TeamLook is checked and the Load Behavior is 'Load at Startup'.

If the box is not checked, TeamLook will be disabled. Reset this to the checked state. Every time the plugin fails to load, this will get reset to something other than 0x3.

Steps

4Close Outlook 2003

5Go to Start | Run | enter cmd.exe in the command line and click OK.

6set VSTO_SUPPRESSDISPLAYALERTS=0

7cd "%systemdrive%\program files\microsoft office\office11"
(or for Outlook 2007)
cd "%systemdrive%\program files\microsoft office\office12"

8outlook.exe (You may now need to repeat steps 1-3.)

At this point, if there was an error at the VSTO layer while loading TeamLook, a dialog will show up informing you of the specific exception that occurred. Please copy and paste the exception and send it to teamlook@personifydesign.com. We really appreciate your assistance in making TeamLook better!

A-2 In certain cases, Outlook may block the loading of all addins. This can be for a variety of reasons. Please be sure that the 'Addin Loader' is not disabled.

Steps

1Open 'About Microsoft Office Outlook' from the Help Menu.

2Select the Disabled Items button.

3If the the Add-in Loader is in this list, enable it.

4Follow the steps from A-1.

To enable Log Tracing

2In the About TeamLook dialog box, check the box Enable Logging.

Once logging has been enabled, clicking the Submit Log button from an exception dialog box or from the About TeamLook dialog box will, will send the log to Personify Design.

QWhy doesn't the Work Item Toolbar show up while composing a new email?

ATeamLook currently supports converting an existing email into a Work Item. The Work Item Toolbar is not displayed while a user is composing an email.

We have considered very interesting scenarios where a user can interact with the Work Item Tracking System while composing new email. Look for this functionality in future releases of TeamLook.
